The Detroit Division of the FBI and the Troy Police Department, in conjunction with the FBI National Academy Associates Michigan Chapter, present a 40-hour Regional Crisis Negotiation Course (RCNC), March 23 – March 27, 2026, at the Troy Police and Fire Training Center, 4850 John R Road, Troy, Michigan 48085.
This course is designed for officers who have not received prior training and/or certification by their agency as a Crisis (hostage) Negotiator. This training begins with individual active listening skills and crisis intervention skills as a foundation of the course. The training blocks build toward operating as a Negotiation Team with focus on team roles, responsibilities, and integration with tactical elements. The training concludes with a full day of scenario-based Negotiation Team training.
Cost for training is $75.00. Any travel or accommodations required are the responsibility of the of the registrant and registrant’s agency and are not included with this cost.
Class size is limited to twenty-six (26) students and will be filled on a first come, first served, basis. Walk-in registrations will not be allowed.
