The Detroit FBI SWAT and The Michigan Chapter of the FBINAA are pleased to announce that they are hosting a Basic Police Sniper-Observer Course at the Fort Custer Training Center, Augusta, Michigan from May 20 – May 24, 2024. With check-in on the morning of May 20, 2024, at 10am.
The course will focus on shooting fundamentals, weapon and telescopic systems, ballistics, camouflage and movement techniques, and positional shooting.
Required Equipment for the course includes a scoped rifle capable of (MOA) accuracy (Due to range restrictions special permission is needed if using any round other than .308); 500 rounds of match grade service ammunition; and eye and ear protection. A complete list of required equipment will be provided to each candidate upon acceptance into the course.
All candidates must be in good physical condition and be an active member of their departments tactical team (SWAT, ES, etc.).
The cost per student will be $600 and will include all meals, lodging, range fees, and class materials. Class size is limited to twenty-four (24) students and will be filled on a first-come-first–serve basis. If lodging and meals are not needed (local students or departments wish to make their own lodging arrangements) the cost will be $400.

The deadline for registration is March 15, 2024. No money or registrations will be accepted at the door. No refunds will be given after March 31, 2024. Once accepted into the course registration and payment information will be provided.
