Thank you for expressing interest the Michigan Police Executive Development Seminar (MPEDS) sponsored by FBI Detroit and the Michigan Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA). Designed for executive officers serving in a department of 50 or less sworn members will be given priority for attendance. This program is designed with small department executives in mind, providing access to information, programs, and instructors previously only available to larger departments.
As a participant in the Seminar, you will engage in a program that challenges you to reflect on your role as a law enforcement executive, both independently and collaboratively. The Seminar provides an opportunity to explore critical issues faced by individuals in this role, analyze organizational behavior through realistic scenarios and media, and receive training in leadership and legal principles. You will also share experiences and challenges with peers from smaller departments and work together to develop practical solutions that enhance your effectiveness as an executive.
While the core principles of the Seminar remain consistent, coursework and activities may be updated to address participants’ needs and align with current professional trends. This program is endorsed by the Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (LEEDA), and graduates are invited to join the organization.
This Seminar is limited to forty (40) students and applicants are registered on a “first-come-first-served” basis. Registration cost for the seminar is $795.00 per person and includes all meals, and training materials. Once you have completed registration, you will be emailed details with lodging instructions. Lodging costs are $95 per night, made directly with the Garland Lodge and Resort.
Only applications with payment will be considered for enrollment, and once the seminar is filled, refunds will be returned to unsuccessful applicants. Due to contractual agreements, participants cancelling after June 30, 2026 will not be able to receive refunds.
The training will be held from September 20th to September 25th, 2026 at the Garland Lodge and Resort located at 4700 North Red Oak Road in Lewiston, Michigan.
